Cyprus bride wears the 'longest veil ever', bags Guinness World Record

At least 30 volunteers were needed to hold the dress and then bring it down to the altar.

Every woman dreams of her wedding, right from the kind of setup to the dress they want to wear, most of them have it all worked out. For a Cyprus woman, named Maria Paraskeva, she decided to make a world record on her special day.

In Western culture, a pristine white dress is incomplete without a veil. It was very much present in Paraskeva’s dress but it surpassed all our expectations. She decided to wear the ‘longest veil ever’ that was exactly 6962.6 meters long. The lace detail covered the entire ground on which the couple was getting married.

The instagram handle of Guinness world records has also shared a video of the veil measuring 6,962.6 meters. According to them, 30 volunteers were needed to hold the dress and then bring it down to the altar.

She told the record-counting veil “my dream as a child has always been to break the Guinness World Record title for the longest wedding veil.”

However, after the video got viral, the comments section had mixed reactions. Many netizens were not exactly sold by the idea. “Where do they get these ideas,” one user said. Another user called it ‘wasteful.’

Some users wished her a beautiful life ahead. “May her marriage be as long and even longer than her beautiful veil!”
