Deep Sidhu gets bail in Red Fort violence case, arrested again

Sidhu was first arrested on February 9 for an FIR registered for the commission of offences under a host of IPC Sections.

Within a day of getting bail in the Red Fort violence FIR, Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu has once again been arrested by Delhi Police in another FIR related to the incident.

This arrest was made pursuant to an FIR numbered 98/2020, registered on a complaint made by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the damage caused to the Red Fort during the violence that took place on January 26, India Today reported.

Sidhu was first arrested on February 9 for an FIR registered for the commission of offences under a host of Sections under the Indian Penal Code, Sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act, and Section 3 of the Prevention of Destruction of Public Property Act in connection with the tractor rally violence at Red Fort.

As per the prosecution, Sidhu is the main conspirator behind the violence at Red Fort. Relying on a series of interviews given by Sidhu, the prosecution said that his intention was to create violence and disregard the national flag.

The Additional Sessions Judge at Tis Hazari Courts yesterday granted bail to Sidhu while observing that denying him bail would be in violation of his fundamental right to life and liberty.
