The religious festival of Milad-un-Nabi celebrates Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. The day is marked with a lavish feast. The delicious Milad-un-Nabi cuisine is known as Mawlid dishes and it also includes the Prophet’s favorite items such as dates and honey.



Aseeda :


Also known as Asida, Aseeda is made up of cooked wheat flour batter with butter or honey. The meal is consumed without cutlery and is eaten from a single bowl and distributed communally.


Rogan Josh :


Mutton Rogan Josh is a meal specially cooked by the Kashmiri Muslims. This meal is among one of the most exquisite mutton recipes. It tastes best when paired with steamed rice or pulao.



Sheer khurma :
