Doctors remove black, white fungus from a 60-year-old man's lung

In CT Scan it was seen that the lower part of the left lung was badly damaged by the patient.

A team of doctors in Hyderabad saved a sexagenarian's life by removing both black and white fungus from his lung.

This was the first case of ‘aspergilloma’ which has happened as a post COVID symptom. Cases have been seen of black fungus affecting the nasal cavity, but this was the first time when the case was treated in an emergency situation affecting the lung.

The patient was taken to SLG Hospital on 10th July when it was seen that he was coughing blood as he had a severe cough. In the CT Scan it was seen that the lower part of the left lung was badly damaged and also had a cavity in it. He suffered from COVID-19 in May.

This is common in people who have weak immune systems while on the other hand it is also found in tuberculosis patients.
