Election Commission started Preparations for 2021 Assembly Elections Due In 4 States, 1 Union Territory

The election this year is expected to be interesting in most of the states

The Legislative Assemblies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry are going to have an election early next year.  The Election Commission has started preparing for the five assembly elections.

Deputy election commissioner Sudip Jain is in Kolkata and EC secretary-general Umesh Sinha and deputy election commissioner Ashish Kundra will check Chennai election. The officials will conduct consultations with various stakeholders, including meetings with all state-level EC officials who will be briefing the poll panel on the preparations.

The terms of the legislative assemblies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry are coming to an end between May and June next year.

The election this year is expected to be interesting in most of the states. West Bengal, already witnesses many changes and development and high-level political spectacle every day where the BJP is determined to bid to end the ruling Trinamool Congress's 10-year rule. On the other hand, the Tamil Nadu politics is getting interesting too with DMK and AIDMK and Rajini’s new party.
