Elephant calf trapped and died in Semmedu village of Coimbatore

The elephant calf was found trapped in an electric fence. The Forest Department officials are investigating the cause of death

A 15-year-old male wild elephant was found dead on an agricultural land of Coimbatore's Semmedu Village.
 
The Forest Department informed that the carcass of the animal was found at the farmland of Semmedu Village near Alandurai in Boluvampatti forest range. This village lies on the outskirts of Coimbatore, a city in Tamil Nadu.The elephant calf was found trapped in an electric fence. The Forest Department officials are investigating the cause of death.
 
Over the year, there has been rise in death of wild due to human-animal conflict. More Giant either demise by barbed wire or by railway accident.
Recently, ministry call for advisory of Human-Animal Conflict to look the issue all over the country.
