First pic of Sushil Kumar attacking wrestler brawl surface

The Delhi Police has claimed the footage is from the parking lot of the Chhatrasal Stadium

The brawl video of two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, who was absconding due to the instance which led to the loss of a life of a junior wrestler, has surfaced on Internet. Kumar was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Sunday (May 23) from Delhi's Munarka area after desertion for 19 days


The video of Kumar and his associates assaulting deceased wrestler Sagar Dhankar during the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl on May 04 has surfaced which shows the India’s famous Olympian holding a stick in his hands as he and his associates thrash 23-year-old Dhankar, who later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.


The Delhi Police has claimed the footage is from the parking lot of the Chhatrasal Stadium where Sushil and his men beat Dhankar and two others ruthlessly.


Later Dhankar's post mortem report revealed that he had died due to 'cerebral damage' after being hit on the head by a blunt object. Two others were also injured in the same scuffle.


The wrestler is presently in 6-day police custody and is being interrogated by the Delhi Police Crime Cell which has taken over the case. Sushil was also taken to the Chhatrasal Stadium on Tuesday to recreate the crime scene.
