First Zika virus case of UP reported In Kanpur

According to the official, a warrant officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF) was found with the infection on Saturday

It is being confirmed by the health officials that the first case of Zika virus in Uttar Pradesh is in Kanpur.
 
According to the official, a warrant officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF) was found with the infection on Saturday.
 
Nepal Singh, Kanpur's Chief Medical Officer (CMO), said that the IAF officer was suffering from severe fever for the past several days and was then admitted to the Air Force Hospital in the district.
 
After pointing out some mysterious symptoms in the case, the blood sample of the patient was collected and sent to Pune for detailed examination which then confirmed that the patient was Zika virus positive. After the result came, the whole  area was sanitised by the municipal corporation.
 
Health officials have collected around twenty-two more samples of people who came in contact with the patient and even those who have the same symptoms have also been sent for examination.
 
The health and civic bodies’ officials have been put on high alert to deal with any serious situation and several teams have also been tasked to check the spread of the virus in the district.
