The Government of India has evacuated another group of 78 people which includes 25 Indians and a number of Afghan Sikhs and Hindus from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
The Indian Air Force airlifted the group along with three copies of the Sikh scripture, Guru Granth Sahib from Kabul to the Tajik city and from there, they were brought by Air India flights.
Till now the total number of rescued has reached over 800 since 16 August. Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and V Muraleedharan received the people at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
"Blessed to receive & pay obeisance to three holy Swaroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from Kabul to Delhi a short while ago," Puri tweeted.
More Indians are expected to be airlifted from Kabul and the government is working to bring them safely.
