India likely to release new cybersecurity strategy this year

There would be around 80 odd new sets of guidelines which will be in the new strategy launch.

With the cabinet reshuffle in the Indian government, a lot of new strategies and policies are to come out with it.

 

Lt. Gen Rajesh Pant, who is the National Cybersecurity coordinator in the Prime Minister’s office, said that the government is planning for a new release of cybersecurity. He added that this new set will cover the overall ecosystem of the cyber space of India. The aim of this strategy would be to ensure a safe, secure, resilient and trusted cyber space of India.

 

There would be around 80 odd new sets of guidelines which will be in the new strategy launch.

 

During the pandemic, a spike in the cases of cybersecurity has been witnessed. Even in the global rank, India is one-of the top three countries hit by cyber-attacks.

 

From the Government’s perspective, cybersecurity has become an essential service. Even the government is also planning to bring an Amendment in the IT Act.
