After standing in queue for more than 35 hours in cold temperatures near the Ukraine border and without access to food, water or toilet, some of the students have finally returned to India. They even had to endure the blows and beatings of the Ukrainian troops, walking over 10 kilometres with bags through a frigid terrain.
Around 182 Indian students reached Mumbai on Tuesday morning onboard Air India Express flight from Bucharest, Romania. They said that the past four to five days have been a nightmare.
It is known that 2,000 Indian students are currently stranded at Bucharest Airport and are trying to board flights to India.
As per reports, the western border countries and Nato had put up shelters about 200 metre from the border and had stocked it with food, water. Blankets, jackets, free SIM cards, car ride to the airport are also provided by them.
