A tragic incident had taken place in Karnataka, when an inebriated man sets house on fire that killed six including four kids.
The incident had taken place near Ponnampet, 60 km from Madikeri in Karnataka. The police source said that the accused identified as YeravaraBhoja, aged around 50 years, an estate labourer, and had frequent fights with his wife Babi. She had left home a week ago and had been staying at her Brother Yeravara Manju's house in the same village. Around 2 am on Saturday, the drunk Bhoja, went to Manju’s house and locked it from outside. The man allegedly climbed the house roof and removed some tiles and pour petrol into the room in which his wife and other family members were sleeping. He set the room on fire and fled from the spot.
Six people, including four children, were charred to death while four others sustained burn injuries. Those killed are Bhoja’s wife (40), his aunt Eravara Seethe (45), Majnu's two minor sons - Vishwas (7) and Prakash (6), a relative’s daughter Prarthana (6) and another relative's son Vishwas (6).
The four people, who have suffered burns, are being treated at Mysuru and at Madikeri hospitals, police said, adding that efforts are being made to arrest Bhoja.
