J-K cop killed, 7-year-old daughter injured in militant attack

The cop has been identified as Saifullah Qadri of Srinagar's Soura area

Srinagar: A J&K cop lost his life on Tuesday in a militant attack at the Anchar area in Srinagar's Soura, according to the officials. The terrorists attacked Saifullah Qadri, the constable, at his home.

According to the news agency, "Qadri and his daughter were shifted to the nearby SKIMS hospital, where he succumbed to injuries." His 7-year-old daughter suffered a bullet injury in her right hand and is out of danger.
Inspector-General of Police (Kashmir range) Vijay Kumar expressed grief over the incident and said, "We will soon get them."

"I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Soura, Srinagar. I assure the people that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. I salute the martyr Policeman SgCt Saifullah Qadri. His service to the nation and supreme sacrifice will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the bereaved family. I pray for the speedy recovery of his daughter," Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said.

Political leader and Former J&K CM, Omar Abdullah also expressed grief and condemned the incident. "I unequivocally condemn this attack on Constable Saifullah Qadri of J&K police in which he lost his life", he said.
