Jammu to rename Janipur-Amphalla road after Syama Prasad Mukherjee

JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta along with Surinder Sharma has been invited to rename the road.

Paying tribute to the Indian politician, barrister and academician, Syama Prasad Mukherjee in his birth anniversary, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has decided to rename the Jammu city’s busy Janipur-Amphalla road after him.

 

According to reports, JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta along with Surinder Sharma corporator of Ward Number 38 Janipur, has been invited to rename the road after Mukherjee, who was also the founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh.

 

The function will start at 12 noon opposite Janipur police station.

 

Earlier, the JMC has also renamed its historic City Chowk as ‘Bharat Mata Chowk’, Circular Road Chowk as ‘Atal Ji Chowk’.
