J&K govt shifts 26 jailed terror suspects to Agra

The sudden move comes ahead of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's three-day visit to Kashmir

In a time when Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a spike in terror attacks and selective killings, the twenty-six hardcore terror associates lodged in different prisons across the Valley's jails under Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978, were transferred to Agra Central Jail.
 
The sudden move comes ahead of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's three-day visit to Kashmir.
 
According to media reports, the administration of the Union Territory has issued an order to shift these terrorists under section 10 (b) of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978. It is being told that a list of 100 such terrorists lodged in the jails of Jammu and Kashmir has been prepared, which has been prepared by the security forces.
 
They are included in the list of A and B category terrorists. These terrorists are linked with their sleeper cells outside even while in jail.
 
The move was taken forward by the special IAF flight Airforce IL 76 plane. The detainees have been moved from six district jails, including the Central jail in Srinagar and Jammu-Kotbalwal, and district jails of Baramulla, Rajouri, Poonch, and Kupwara.
