Kanpur Accident: 16 killed, 6 injured as bus collides with auto

Prime Minister's Office has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased

In a tragic road accident on the Kanpur-Allahabad highway, claimed the lives of at least 16 people along with six people suffering substantial injuries. The accident took place in the Kisan Nagar area at Sachendi on Kanpur-Allahabad highway. Of the six people who got injured two are said to be critically wounded.


The accident took place when a speeding bus hit a loader which fell on the other side of the road on Tuesday night. The injured have been admitted to Hallet hospital.


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the accident and directed officials to provide all necessary help and support to victims.


CM Adityanath has also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to kin of the decreased.


Prime Minister's Office has also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and also ordered an inquiry into the incident.
