After a landslide on Sunday early morning, not less than six houses were damaged in Kalwa. A disaster management official said no one was injured in the incident.
Thane Municipal Corporation's regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam said that the landslide took place in the Indira Nagar locality following which huge stones rolled down a mound in the region.
The official also that 20 to 25 houses were vacated in the area and residents were shifted to a civic school in Gholai Nagar as a precautionary measure.
A team of the RDMC and few local firemen rushed to the site and evacuate the six houses that were damaged and more actions by authorities are underway.
Earlier in July, hundreds lost their lives and many were injured after heavy downpour in Maharashtra which led to landslides in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts.
