Lulu inherits US$5 Million

The will of Lulu's owner states that the money will be transferred to a trust.

Lulu, an 8-year-old dog, has recently gone viral all over the internet. The dog captivated the netizens after the news got spread of her inheriting USD 5 million (Rs 36,29,55,250) from her owner, following his death.

Lulu, a Border Collie, was left with the mammoth amount after her owner, Bill Dorris, from Nashville, Tennessee in the US, died last year.According to reports, the will of Lulu's owner states that the money will be transferred to a trust, so that it can be used to take care of her.

Dorris left the dog in the care of his friend, Martha Burton. The will states that Burton is to be reimbursed for Lulu's reasonable monthly expenses, as BBC reported. Talking about Lulu's relationship with her late master, Burton told News Channel 5, "I don't really know what to think about it to tell you the truth. He just really loved the dog."

For now, it's uncertain how much Dorris's estate is worth, but according to The New York Post, his friends revealed that he owned enormous real estate holdings and investments. Additionally, the large amount that the dog has inherited does not implies that she or her new owner get a free pass to use for unnecessary things. The will simply permits Burton to be reimbursed for reasonable monthly expenses.
