Maha Ashtami 2021: Kanya Pujan and its Significance

For this ritual, nine young girls below the age of ten are treated as Goddess Durga and are worshiped according to the rituals

The Maha Ashtami 2021 will fall on 13 October, Wednesday and it also marks the eighth day of Navratri 2021.
 
Another known term for this day is Durga Ashtami and is one of the most auspicious day to Hinduism. The Mahagauri form of Maa Durga is worshiped on this day.
 
One of the significant ritual, the Kanya Pujan
Kumari puja 2021 shall be celebrated on 13 October 2021 which is also known as Kanya Puja or Kumarika Puja.
 
For this ritual, nine young girls below the age of ten are treated as Goddess Durga and are worshiped according to the rituals. After the puja is completed, they are given a lavish feast and fed extravagant delicious food.
 
The Goddess Durga's most auspicious forms is the unmarried or also known as the the ‘Kumari’ form of Maa Durga as it is regarded as the basis of all creations in this universe. Goddess Durga feels happy when young girls are respected and honoured and so this puja is also one of the best mediums to offer prayers.
