Maha govt's big announcement: Local trains to resume from August 15

Those who are jabbed with second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to use the local trains

Announcing a much-awaited relaxation, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that the Mumbai local trains will open for those who are vaccinated against COVID-19 from August 15 onwards.

Those who are jabbed with second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least fifteen days prior to travel will be eligible to use the local trains.

Thackeray on Sunday said that an app has been developed for the same and its details would be provided on Monday. On the app, those who are eligible will have to give the details of their vaccination. They will then be provided with a pass that will allow them to travel on the local trains.

For those who do not have mobile phones, the facility of applying for a pass at the local office will be available.
