A tragic incident had occurred when a massive fire broke out at the Fashion Street market area of Maharashtra's Pune late on Friday night. The blaze has burning down over 500 shops completely.
The officials got a call for help was received at around 9:30 pm from Fashion Street area.
The fire brigade couldn't reportedly reach the spot easily because of the congestion on the road leading to the market. It is reported that as many as 16 fire tenders and water tankers were rushed to the area to extinguish the fire. It takes four hours to control the situation. The fire came in control by 1:10am.
However, there have been no reports of casualties in the fire accident so far. According to Prashant Ranpise, the Chief Fire Officer of the Pune Municipal Corporation, there has been loss and damage of properties.
The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed but it spread due to congested area. In another incident the head of Pune Cantonment Board’s (PCB) fireplace division was killed in a road accident whereas returning house from the spot. Identified as Prakash Hasabe he was just returning after exhausted the fire.
