The second wave of coronavirus in India has portrayed a grim picture across the world. With people dying for beds and the lack of oxygen, and the authorities watching helplessly; many on social media called out for the resignation of several Chief Ministers of the country.
The hashtag also trended throughout the day with netizens seeking answers and resignation of the Modi government.
Taking a dig into the matter, Actress Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday took a jibe at trolls and said, "Modi ji does not know how to lead, Kangana does not know how to act, Sachin does not know how to bat, Lata ji does not know how to sing, magar these chindi trolls know everything, please #Resign_PM_Modi ji and make one of these Vishnu avatar trolls next Prime Minister of India."
The hashtag #Resign_PM_Modi has been trending on Twitter since morning with a section of netizens blaming Modi for the second wave of the pandemic in India.
Commenting on the actress' tweet, netizens expressed their mind. Some users feel that the PM should not have permitted mass gatherings like Kumbh Mela and election rallies at a time when the second wave of Covid-19 was on. There were many others who supported Modi and Kangana, too.
Meanwhile, India's new COVID deaths hit an overwhelming peak with 3,293 people dying in the last 24 hours. New cases rose by over 3.6 lakh, a global high, pushing the total cases to over 1.79 crore. The crisis has left India grappling for oxygen and medicines.
