Newly-wed woman hospitalised after gang-rape by husband, brothers-in-law in UP

She was gang-raped, torture with a stick and had her private parts burnt

Yet another crime against women, a newlywed 20-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by her husband and two brothers-in-law and was hospitalized.

The heinous incident had taken place in Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, other members of her husband’s family also tortured her over dowry. The woman hails from Kotwali Sahaswan area, got married to a resident of Usmanpur area within Zarifnagar police station limits on June 22.

After she moved to her matrimonial house, she was allegedly tortured for dowry. She was gang-raped, torture with a stick and had her private parts burnt. There were also attempts to kill her by make her have a poison-laced cold drink.

Later her father rescued her with a police team and shifted her to the district hospital for treatment. A case has also been registered against seven people at the Zarifnagar police station and an investigation was initiated. Further action would be taken on the basis of the investigation and the woman’s medical examination report. Her husband has been arrested.

In another incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by her 42-year-old neighbour at a village in Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh in Wednesday.
