Petrol rates saw a hike of 25 to 34 paise. After reaching a historic high, diesel rates fell down by 15 to 17 paise across the country.
With the first decrease in months, the diesel retailed at rupees 97.33 per litre in Mumbai and petrol rose to rupees 107.24 a litre.
In Delhi, petrol retails at rupees 101.23 per litre and diesel at rupees 89.76 per litre in the national capital on the day.
In Kolkata, petrol price reached rupees 101.39 per litre and diesel price decreased by 15 paise to reach rupees 92.86 per litre.
In Chennai, the latest hike took the prices of a litre of petrol and diesel each to rupees 101.96 and rupees 94.28 respectively.
Fuel rates differ from state to state depending on local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.
