President Kovind 'improving continuously', shifted from ICU: Rashtrapati Bhavan

Doctors are constantly monitoring his condition and have advised him to take rest

President Ram Nath Kovind's health condition is improving, and he has been shifted from ICU to a special room in AIIMS as informed by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.


The president had undergone a cardiac bypass surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and now is recovering well.


The RashtrapatiBhavan tweeted "President Kovind was shifted from the ICU to a special room in the AIIMS today. His health has been improving continuously. Doctors are constantly monitoring his condition and have advised him to take rest."


The president was admitted to the Indian Army's Research and Referral Hospital March 26 after he complained of chest discomfort, later he was shifted to AIIMS; where he underwent a cardiac bypass surgery on March 30.


On April 1, the President said that he has been recovering well after the bypass surgery and also thanked doctors and caregivers for their amazing dedication.
