Puja pandals to turn inclusive for senior citizens and specially-abled devotees

Debajyoti Roy, the secretary of NIP said that more than 350 puja committees have enrolled their names

Durga Puja, one of the major festivals of the city of Joy, is round the corner. Many organisations have joined hands for a wonderful initiative which will make the visits to Durga puja pandals of Kolkata more enjoyable for the differently-abled people and senior citizens maintaining Covid-19 protocols.
According to reports, an NGO, in collaboration with the special body of community Durga Pujas, a private hospital and the Rotary club has announced an award for the best environment created in a puja pandal for differently-abled and senior citizens.
Debajyoti Roy, the secretary of NIP, the NGO,  on Thursday said that more than 350 puja committees which includes several famous ones have enrolled their names.
Partha Ghosh, an executive committee member of Forum for Durgotsab, the apex platform of around 600 community pujas said, "Every member of ours has been requested to comply with the Covid protocols as well as follow accessibility guidelines for free and easy movement of persons with disabilities and senior citizens."
Till now it is known that the  jury team including medical personnel will wrap up the visit to the pandals by Mahasasthi.
