Ramayan actor Chandrakant Pandya dies at 70; Dipika Chikhlia, Sunil Lahri pay tribute

Television and film actor Chandrakant Pandya passed away on Thursday. He played the role of Nishad Raj in the iconic mythological drama showing the Indian television, Ramayan.  Reportedly, the actor was suffering from many health diseases.
 
Chandrakant Pandya was 70-year-old and the news of his demise was shared by actress Dipika Chikhlia, who played Sita in the same epic show. The actress share a picture of the late actor on her Instagram stories and pay her tribute and wrote, "#RIP Chandrakant Pandya – Nishad Raj of Ramayan."
 
Sunil Lahri who played the role of Lakshman also took to his official Instagram account to pay tribute and wrote, "Ramayan ke Ek Aur kalakar Nishad Raj ka Abhinaya Karne Wale kalakar Chandrakant Ji Ab Hamare beech Nahin Rahe Bhagwan Unki Atma ko Shanti De. Om Shanti."
 
Chandrakant Pandya is best remembered and popular for playing Nishad Raj, who is Lord Rama's childhood friend in mythological drama Ramayan by Ramanand Sagar.
 
The late veteran actor was also featured in several films including Prem Lagna, Pyar Ho Gaya, Hote Hote Pyar Hogaya and Parivaar Na Pankhi.   Chandrakant Pandya made his debut in the Gujarati film Kadu Makrani and was also known for his friendship with Bollywood's veteran actor Amjad Khan.
 
Actor Chandrakant Pandya was interested in acting from his childhood and even he got a chance to work in several plays with actors Upendra Trivedi and Arvind Trivedi.
