On Monday, when it was asked about introduction of 1000 rs currency RBI governor Shaktikanta Das responded that there is no such decision made yet to do so. He told “That's speculative. There's currently no proposal for such a measure.”

He also stated that withdrawl and stopping circulation of 2000 rs notes from the market won't make much differences as 2000 rs denominations only account for 10.8% of total currency in circulation.

He urged public not to get vexed or perplexed for 2000 rs withdrawal and not to  hastily go to the bank for exchange as there is enough time to do that upto September 30.
