A policeman was injured by a sword during clashes on Friday at Singhu border between Delhi and Haryana, the epicenter of the two-month long farmer protest.

Clashes happened out at Singhu border today between protesting farmers and a group of local people who demanded that the area be vacated, complaining that the two-month-long agitation has made their daily commute difficult.
Despite heavy police presence, the farmer had allegedly attacked a group that barged into the protest site. Police resorts to lathi charge, tear gas to disperse them. According to Delhi Police, a Station House Officer was "grievously injured" when he tried to stop the farmer. Delhi police tweeted, “SHO Alipur, Delhi intervenes between rioting protestors (MKSC faction) and local Singhu villagers, who had gone to register their protest against the happenings on Republic Day-2021 and continued loss of ordinary livelihoods for over two months.” Suddenly some unknown rioting protestor attacked SHO Alipur. “He has suffered grievous injuries on his hand,” Delhi police tweeted.

Locals also staged a protest outside the barricaded Tikri border protest site, saying that they are facing problems in daily living and transaction of business since the protests began. The local said “Vande Mataram” and “Khali Karo”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” “Nahin Sahenge” and  stage a protest at Tikri Border outside the boundary of the protest.
