A special court in Mumbai has extended the judicial custody of eight accused including Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in the Mumbai cruise drugs case till October 30.
The eight accused were not produced in court either physically or via a video conference today.
The courts usually extends a judicial custody for 14 days but due to the vacation for the Diwali festival which is starting November 4, the special court has extended judicial custody for only nine days.
The 23 years old, Aryan Khan, whose bail application was rejected by a special NDPS court, has moved to the Bombay High Court on Wednesday. The Bombay HC will hear the bail application of Aryan on October 26.
The special NDPS court, while refusing Aryan's bail plea, has apparently observed that he was involved in illegal drug activities on a regular basis" and has a string with drug peddlers and suppliers.
Aryan Khan's friend Arbaaz Merchant and fashion model Munmun Dhamecha's bail application were also rejected by the court.
Earlier today, Shah Rukh Khan came to meet his son at Arthur Road Jail where Aryan is presently lodged.
Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after it raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast and allegedly seized banned drugs.
