The Tripura government on Tuesday issued important guidelines for the celebration of Durga Puja and other upcoming festivals from October to December to avoid any spike of Covid-19. The authorities have also mandated Covid-19 tests for puja organizers, priests and volunteers two days before Durga puja.
The rules formed by the Disaster Management Authority on Monday, said that the puja organizers are required to take permission from the concerned district and police administration for puja celebration. Around 5-10 visitors will only be allowed to enter at a time and also the visitors have to maintain one-meter physical distance, the organizers are told to avoid narrow entrance and exit systems in the pandal.
The clubs are also directed to go for online puja subscriptions and avoid visiting homes amid pandemic.
The Covid-19 tests should be conducted two days before Durga Puja and the organizers also set up Covid-19 testing booths at major puja sites.
The pushpanjali ritual should be conducted through microphones during puja and even the devotees are requested to bring flowers from their homes for pushpanjali. Not more than 10-15 devotees can participate in the ritual at a time.
The major important guidelines are that no procession will be allowed while bringing the idol of Durga to the pandal and at least 30 persons will be allowed to attend the immersion of the idol.
