Uttar Pradesh: Seven dead, many injured after cylinder blast in Gonda district

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to provide effective treatment to the injured

In a tragic incident eight people, including three children, have been killed after an LPG cylinder explosion took place on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when one of the families in the village was cooking. The blast led to the collapse of the buildings that were next to each other, trapping 15 people.

The incident happened in Tikri village of Uttar Pradesh's Gonda in Wazirganj area.

The deceased have been identified as Nisar Ahmad (35), RubinaBano (32), Shamshad (28), Sairunisha (35), Shahbaz (14), NooriSaba (12), Meraj (11) and Mohammad Shoeab (2). The villagers could rescue some of them and rushed them to the Public Health Centre in Nawabganj.

Police personnel of the force immediately reached the spot after receiving information of the incident on its helpline.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the deaths and directed officials to provide effective treatment to the injured. He also asked the district magistrate to probe the cause of the incident and submit the report to the government.
