Vijay Mallya, Indias’ most infamous fugitive economic offender and the former chairman of the UB Group, which consists of Kingfisher beer and Kingfisher Airlines.
Mallaya, had fled the country in 2016 after several private banks had moved the debt recovery tribunal against him. Further investigation had revealed a large amount was remitted in foreign banks by his company name of his Kingfisher Airlines (KAL).
He was accused of over 9,000 crores of default bank loans. An extradition warrant had also issued against him in 2017 by Scotland Yard.
The Enforcement Directorate has also earlier confiscated his assets that have worth more than 11231.71 crores.
