15-days Janta Curfew in Maharashtra from April 14, 2021

Here’s a list of what is open and what is not

The worst hit state of deadly corona virus, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ordered a 15-day curfew across the state on Tuesday to break the chain and to contain the spread of virus. The curfew comes into effect from today and will remain in force till May 1.

In the 15 'Janta Curfew', it should be noted that Section 144 will be imposed in the state from today onwards.

The new restrictions comes into effect from 8 pm, April 14 and will stay in place till 7 am, May 1.

Here’s a list of what is open and what a not:-

The emergency and essential item shop will remain open: - medical shops, grocery shops, vegetable vendors etc will remain open also essential public service likely to be open:- banks, petrol pumps, E-commerce shops, cash ATMs, postal services will remain open. During Janta curfew; takeaways, home delivery at restaurants are allowed, public transport for essential services are allowed and public movements are allowed only with valid reasons, Home delivery of newspapers and magazines are also allowed.

However, following will remain close during Janta curfew:- Cinema halls, auditoriums, water parks, clubs, gyms, swimming pools, film shooting, shopping malls, beaches, gardens, religious places, barber shops, spa, schools, colleges etc.

Meanwhile Maharashtra reported 60,212 fresh coronavirus positive cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 35,19,208 while 281 fatalities resulted total toll to 58,526. Maharashtra is now have 5,93,042 active cases.
