When many states are already in the prey of second wave of deadly virus, in a matter of concern now the fear of contagious virus has been extended to Odisha. As many as 16 inmates of Rairangpur sub-jail in Mayurbhanj district have tested positive for coronavirus led to concern for the district administration.
A total of 26 swab samples were sent for test and among them 16 came out to be positive.
The jail authorities have taken several steps to contain the spread of virus. First of all, the infected inmates have been kept in isolation. Sanitisation of the cells are learnt to be carried out. Other COVID-19 guidelines are being followed as usual.
Mayurbhanj district reported 26 fresh cases till Saturday 9:00 am. The total cases are now 14,627 with 14,351 recovery and 183 are active cases.
