Here's how you can increase your immunity while sleeping

While sleeping our body produces T cells, a type of immune cells that fight against intracellular pathogens

During the time of deadly pandemic, everyone around the nook and corner of world is worried about immunity boosting. Over the time many people are trying placebo methods and other kind of non-proven methods to increase immunity.

But, the little solution is in our hands only that are sleep! Which will keep all our worries at bay?

While sleeping our body produce a protein called cytokines, which help to fight infection and inflammation by creating an immune response. Our bodies also produce T-cells during sleep, which are white blood cells that play a critical role in our body’s immune response to an infectious disease. T cells are a type of immune cells that fight against intracellular pathogens, like virus-infected cells such as flu, HIV, herpes, and cancer cells. T cells play an important role in the body’s immune system.

When these cells in the body recognize a virally infected cell, they activate integrin, a sticky type of protein that then allows them to attach to and kill infected cells.

So, poor sleep can increase inflammation, blood pressure, insulin resistance, cortisol, weight gain, and cardiovascular disease, decrease blood sugar regulation and prioritizing sleep helps in stabilizing mood, energized and fuel the body’s resilience, especially much needed during these challenging times.

During sleep our body and brain are motivated by consistent release and recovery of hormones. The release of many types of hormones on a regular basis play a role in overall health. Thus, Sleep is an essential element for a long, healthy and happy life. It also reduce stress hormones which is another cause of reduction in immunity.

So prioritize sleep is a must, in this time of crisis, to avoid sleep deprivation, one can try blackout curtains, a sleep mask, to help create the ideal sleep environment.
