Oxygen shortage: 45 COVID patients die in two days in Delhi

The corona situation in the country is becoming worse day by day and in this connection the tragic incident happen in national capital due to shortage of oxygen. Delhi has been dealing with the shortage in oxygen supply amid a huge surge in coronavirus cases.


In the national capital, it witnesses the death of 25 COVID patients due to scarcity of oxygen in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Thursday.


Iin the very next day as many as 20 critically ill COVID-19 patients died at Jaipur Golden Hospital in Delhi on Friday night owing to low stock of oxygen. The hospital has more than 210 patients and the hospital only have oxygen stock to last for 45 minutes at 10:15 am on Saturday.


Medical Director of Jaipur Golden Hospital in Delhi, Dr DK Baluja said “20 critically ill COVID patients died last night over oxygen crisis. The oxygen stock was never completely dry, but the pressure was low as we were running out of stock.” He also added “We were supposed to get a supply of 3,600 litres of oxygen at 5 pm on Friday, but we got 1,500 litres at 12 pm. There was a 7-hour delay and by that time the pressure of oxygen supply was low. Even while refilling, it takes time for the pressure to build up.” Amidst the crisis, the tragedy of death is happening amidst the surge of COVID.
