Prime Minister Narendra Modi had received his second dose of coronavirus vaccine at All India Institutes of Medical Sciences on Thursday. The Covaxin is India’s Atmanirbhar vaccine developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech.
After taking the vaccine the PM tweeted "Got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS today. Vaccination is among the few ways we have, to defeat the virus."
PM Modi has also urged all eligible people to get vaccinated. He added: "If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon."
The PM had shared a link to the CoWin website, a portal to register for the vaccine. "Register on http://CoWin.gov.in on his twitter handle
PM Modi had taken the first shot of the vaccine on March 1, when the vaccination drive was opened for senior citizens and people with co- morbidities above the age of 45 years.
Puducherry's Sister P Niveda administered him the first dose. Then also PM had appealed to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. He tweeted “Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!” after receiving the first shot.
