Thieves steal over 1,710 doses of COVID vaccine from Jind hospital in Haryana

The police have registered a case against unidentified persons.

Even as several states are facing an accused shortage of COVID vaccines, thieves broke into Jind's PP Center General Hospital storeroom in Haryana and stole nearly 1,710 doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines. The district is left with no vaccines at the moment.

Other medicines and cash in the storeroom were left untouched. The accused had their target fixed on the corona vaccines. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons.

The hospital administration had neither installed a CCTV camera near the storeroom nor had deployed a guard to prevent vaccine theft.

Haryana is the second state in the country that has been accused of wasting the Covid-19 vaccines. Punjab stands third.
