India is all set to start its second phase of the biggest Covid-19 vaccination (Janta jab) drive from tomorrow. The priority will be given for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions. The ministry had thus specified 20 comorbidities among people aged between 45 and 59 years who will get the vaccine they are heart failure with hospital admission in the past year, moderate or severe heart disease, coronary artery disease, CT/ MRI-documented stroke, diabetes of over 10 years or with complications, hypertension, end-stage kidney disease on haemodialysis, diagnosis of any solid cancer on or after 2000 or currently on any cancer therapy.
For this purpose around 10,000 private hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY and over 600 private hospitals under the central government health scheme has been chosen for vaccination drive. The vaccine will be given free of cost at government hospitals, while people will need to pay for it at private which can be of INR 250 per dose of the Covid-19 vaccine according the Union Health Ministry.
How to Register?
There are three methods of registration i.e., advance self-registration, on-site registration and facilitated cohort registration. First of all the public need to download the Co-Win Apps available at play store. Co-win has special GPS enabled setting used for the purpose of vaccination. If one cannot do that by smartphone or is not tech savvy; there is also provision for them for walk-in registration in nearby vaccination centre. One can make up to four appointments for family members in one phone and can also select the date and time of vaccine at their convenient.
So, first you need to download the Co-Win Apps, registered with your 10 digit Indian mobile number, you will get a OTP to verify, then select the date and time and appointments at your convenience. The other apps, which followed the same procedure of registration is AarogyaSetu Apps. One can also registrar themselves through website cowin.gov.in following the same procedures.
Things you need to carry:-
The beneficiaries are required to bring at least one of their photo ID documents of Aadhaar Card or Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) card. People aged between 45-59 should carry a certificate of co morbidity signed by a registered medical practitioner, and an employment certificate for health care and frontline workers.
