WB state govt-run schools to remain closed from tomorrow, early summer vacation announced

The students of Class 10 and 12, and the school teachers were attending physical classes till now.

The government of West Bengal has ordered the closure of schools in the state from tomorrow, April 20, in view of the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the area. The schools in the state are set to remain shut for the time being.


Apart from announcing the closure of schools in the state, the government of West Bengal has also announced summer vacations in all the schools from May 7. The students of Class 10 and 12, and the school teachers were attending physical classes till now.


As per the directives of the West Bengal government, all state schools are to remain closed from tomorrow till further notice. The summer vacations in the state have been preponed and no dates for the reopening of schools have been issued yet.


The physical classes for all the students in West Bengal were suspended last year in March 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by the central government.
