Ahead of Cabinet reshuffle, 12 ministers resign including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Babul Supriyo

A total of 43 are expected to take oath as ministers in the reshuffle.

A slew of ministers including some of the senior ones have resigned ahead of the Cabinet reshuffle today.

 

Law and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, health minister Harsh Vardhan, education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and environment minister Prakash Javadekar are some of the senior ministers who have quit.

 

Among them, Union Minister Babul Supriyo submitted his resignation on Wednesday.

 

A total of 43 are expected to take oath as ministers in the reshuffle that is aimed at reinvigorating the Modi government as it grapples with challenges spanning Covid and economy.

 

The reshuffle will be the first in the second term of the Modi government.
