Amit Shah to flag off 'Bengal Paribarton Yatra' tomorrow from Coochbehar

On the same day, he will also visit Thakurnagar.

Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to visit West Bengal on Thursday to flag off the third phase of the party's Poribortan Yatra from Cooch Behar. He will also reach out to the Matua voters in the sect's spiritual centre in Bongaon. The matua community is touted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the biggest beneficiary of the Citizenship Amendment Act.

As per reports, Shah is said to come to Bengal after addressing a public meeting in Assam on Thursday and will start by visiting the famous Madan Mohan temple in Cooch Behar. After that he will roll out the party's Poriborton yatra from the Rashmela grounds.

On the same day, he will also visit Thakurnagar, starting by paying his tributes at the Harichand Thakur temple. Shah had also planned to visit Bongaon at least twice in the last three months but his visits have been cancelled for reasons the party never made clear.

The last plan on January 29 was cancelled due to the blast near the Israel embassy in New Delhi and farmers' protests.
