Bomb blast in South 24 Parganas; 6 injured

The family of the injured had claimed that they are BJP workers. Police claimed, accident had taken place inside the house of a BJP activist

At least six people have reported to be injured with two of them in critical condition in a crude bomb blast that had taken place in West Bengal’s South 24 Pargana’s Gosaba village.


The family of the injured had claimed that they are BJP workers and alleged that the bomb blast was planned by TMC in order to hurt them intentionally. The incident had taken place when they were returning from a marriage ceremony in Rampur area.


The police has however, claimed that the accident had taken place inside the house of a BJP activist where the crude bombs were being manufactured went off accidently. “We have listened to the claims of the family members of those injured but it seems that they were manufacturing bombs when it exploded”, the police stated.


The police have started an investigation into the incident and ruled out the chances that the incident may be a case of political violence in poll-bound West Bengal.;“We are investigating the matter and talking to the locals,” the police said. The clashes were also going on between TMC-BJP in Gosaba when the incident had taken place. The injured are undergoing treatment at Canning Sub- Divisional Hospital.
