Mamata claimed she has been 'attacked' in Nandigram

“Four or five people came in front of the car and pushed the door. This was done purposely,” she said.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday evening claimed that she was attacked in Nandigram, as she was rushed back to Kolkata with an injured foot. "Four or five people came in front of the car and pushed the door. This was done purposely," she said, adding that no local police was present at the spot when the incident took place.

The Election Commission of India has sought a report on the incident, which comes just a few days before the eight-phase elections in West Bengal, starting from 27 March.

More details are awaited.
