Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad is receiving his party workers' wrath ever since he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his retirement from the Rajya Sabha. The angry Congress workers in Jammu set ablaze Azad's effigies and demanded his removal from the party.
Another angry party worker demanded that Azad's removal from the party as his comments are proving detrimental to the party's image. The protests is the aftermath of when Ghulam Nabi Azad created a storm by praising the Prime Minister during an event in Jammu attended by G-23 leaders.
He had said, "I admire several things about a number of leaders... I am from a village and I am proud of it. A big leader, our prime minister, says he is from a village, he used to sell tea."
