Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday turned 51, on June 19, but he has decided not to celebrate in view of the Covid pandemic. He celebrated the day by distributing ration kits and organising vaccination camps. He was born to Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in 1970 in Delhi.
The Delhi Congress had observe the day as "Sewa Diwas" and distributed face masks, medicine kits and cooked meals free of cost to the deprived in the national capital.
The National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the Congress' students' wing organised a free vaccination camp and distributed free ration to the destitute in Delhi.
Free vaccination camps were also set up for citizens across the country. Financial assistance had been provided to citizens who have lost their jobs due to pandemic and to the physically challenged.
Party workers also distributed ration to women cab drivers and organised a free vaccination camp for sex workers at GB Road in Delhi.
