TMC MLA Jitendra Tiwari accused Bengal Government

“The letter was a confidential one and it shouldn’t have leaked to the press” – Jitendra Tiwari

The Centre State tussle and BJP-TMC conundrum had reached a new level when TMC MLA Jitendra Tiwari has written a letter to the Urban Development Minister, Firhad Hakim, stating the Central fund that has been granted under the smart city for Asansol had been blocked.

It has mentions that due to political reasons the state has been blocked the central fund to the Asansol municipality.

Asansol has been picked for the smart city mission project under which it is supposed to get 2000 crore for development. However, the TMC MLA has accused that the fund has been blocked.

Jitendra Tiwari alleged that the Centre had selected Asansol for the smart city project but the state government created hurdles and ensured that it is dropped. Tiwari later said “the letter was a confidential one and it shouldn’t have leaked to the press”. He added “Whatever I have to say, I will tell the party and the minister. I will not discuss the matter with the press. I am a loyal soldier of the party," Tiwari, had also recently resigned from the board of governors of a college in Asansol. Hakim in a statement said "I tried to contact him but couldn’t connect. I request him not to fall into the trap of the Centre. The smart city project is hyped. Fifty per cent of the funds are to be given by the state government," he said.

Instead of writing such a letter and making it public, anyone who has a problem can leave the party. To act on behalf of the BJP is unacceptable” he also said. Tiwari also replied back saying Hakim has no right to suggest whether he should leave the party or not. “Who is he (Hakim) to give me directions on what I should do or not I will only obey Mamata Banerjee. She is my leader. And if he is so interested he can join the saffron party,” Tiwari said.

Union minister Babul Supriyo, who is the Asansol MP, supported Tiwari while accusing the TMC government of depriving the industrial town.“Whatever
Jitendra Tiwari has said is right. The TMC government has deprived the people of the state for its vested political interest,” he said.

The development comes amid rising conflict within the Trinamool Congress, as many TMC leaders joining BJP, ahead of poll next year. There is also rise of violence and assassination of several party leaders of BJP that led BJP to point out the default of TMC government. There are also inner conflicts among the fractions of TMC, and to add fuels to fire the statement of Tiwari came.

Earlier there are also several accusations that many centres projects have not implemented in states and the citizens are not getting the fruits of development. Even PM Modi hinted at his several speeches regarding several acts including Farmers benefit like Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Yojana, in lieu of it state government expand the benefits of ‘swasthyasathi’ scheme.

PM Modi said his government at the Centre was making every possible effort to develop Bengal, especially poor, but due to the lack of implementation of policies people are not getting benefitted. Now the blow comes within the party itself. It was just a matter of time to check the next movement of the ruling party to bring alternatives development policies or the opposition will came to power.
