Bharti Singh on her initial days of doing comedy: 'Our relatives boycotted us'

Bharti Singh had once opened up about her earlier days in the industry on her 37th birthday

Dance Deewane host and Comedian Bharti Singh celebrates her 37th birthday on Saturday. Bharti is among the most popular comedians in the country. Although, her journey was not always met with positivity.


She had once recalled how her relatives boycotted her family when she started her career in comedy on the dance reality show Dance Deewane.


She with her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa host the show and is judged by actor Madhuri Dixit and dancer-choreographers Dharmesh Yelande and Tushar Kalia.


A contestant in that show had opened up about facing opposition from her village for dancing. To which, it reminded Bharti of her own struggles and she went on to share them.


She shared,“Today, your story has pushed me into flashback mode. When I was preparing to come to Bombay after I got selected in a comedy reality show".


She further shared that she faced hatred from her relativesand even they boycotted her family and came up with inappropriate questions on “how girls succeed in Mumbai”.


After her first comedy show, the actor appeared in various editions of Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show and hosted many reality shows.
