George III was plagued by mental illness most of his life, but his wife never turned her back against him

 

Marriage is a consummation of two souls. It is a great blessing to have a spouse who is compatible with you in every possible way. There is no dearth of this blessing among the royals. Some of their long-lasting marriages prove that marriages are indeed made in heaven.

The Romanian royals got married in 1948. They were married for 68 years when Queen Anne died in 2016. King Michael I couldn’t bear the separation from his beloved and he also died the following year in 2017.

Japanese Emperor Akihito and his life partner Empress Michiko have been going hand in hand for the last 62 years. Their marriage took place in 1959. The couple is still very much in love with each other. Together they have 3 children and their eldest son is the current emperor in power.

George III was plagued by mental illness most of his life, but his wife never turned her back against him. She was with him till his last breath.
